by new hope and happiness inrecentley i read ray franz book " christian freedom" and it occurd to me if he had lost his faith and become athiest the society would have delighted in that.
i think had ray turned athiest it would have been more easily " justified" in the mags what a " evil man he was" ....but maintaining his faith left the possibillity the society could be wrong.. .
i am athiest but i kept this to myself when i left... any comments?.

Oh My God!!
by ABibleStudent inyesterday after an awesome workout at the gym i was walking to the front door and i saw my former friend who is a "spiritually strong" (non-thinking) jw walking towards me talking with a trainer.
i thought she was either there on a job interview or was taking a tour of the facilities before joining.. i thought should i say hi, should i say nothing, would she acknowledge me, etc.
i decided to say hi to make sure that she remembered that i am a member of this gym, so that she would not feel uncomfortable it she accepted a job there or joined it.. the gym is about 20 miles from where she lived when i was friends with her, but is in a convenient location between where she was living and where she works.. i said "hi n" about five feet before me, no response.. i said "hi n" a little louder about five feet after they passed me.

Abiblestudent...i know witnesses that are just incapable of shunning, so i dont hold with its the indoctrination. She is simply a person who is able to shun another. ( kind of sad as your posts reads that you were once close friends) ....

Well in buddisam they say you cant have truth with self. I think that has " a ring of truth about it" . It means you need get rid of your ego. Its kind of difficult to lead and not have an ego....all words are a seperation of truth.
Sorry if thats off topic. And sorry if it sounds silly but date i say " it has the ring of truth about it" for me.

he was so irritating because he didn't tell me who he was but instead started asking me questions about my house and some slightly personal questions.
in the end i found myself saying who are you and what do you want.. then i thought heck this is what i was taught to do.

Sadly i was a people person that loved the product this made me dangerouse...and to my shame i think i loved the product more than the househoder....uggg

To clarify my post i think its a BIG thing for a J.W to think " you have chosen us from all the nations of the world, you have loved us" and thats why i think they prefer members to leave for " immorality" anything but keeping a faith in God but not the organisation.

Wh is rocking the Nations.? According to the talk, Jehover with the help of " WE" and " OUR" . such language kind of makes an individual feel i important and special. now thats quite ironic in an organisation that takes all personal identity a way from the individual.

Punk you say " i guess to sum up, anywherw people get together and revere or folliw someone else....." and may i say that is why i am sick of football...may i also add in the nicest way, some posters here yourself included seem to be " revered". May be a better word is " respected". So i think having opinions is good and educational for all, but becomming a follower thats another thing...

Punk you say " although i see all religion as crapper than crap......" tell me do you think buddisam is a religion? i have found that it quite interesting, but i ignore the organisational teachings. My Aunts a quaker, and i like the idea of a meeting where everyone sits in silence...thats the best way to avoid the crap.

Lucid interesting...when James Dean was shooting a scene in East of Eden, in which he was asked by his father ( in real life) the very religiousr " Raymond massey"to recite Bible passages, Dean OFF SCRIPT improvised and said " f...k, sh.. and p... on the bible. This was to get the devoutley religiouse Masseys. angry reaction and it worked it made the scene....
My point is i think religiouse people are more sensitive to there " holy" books than athiests are to there books....maybe its because religiouse people think more with the heart and athiests with the head, or maybe i dont know what i am talking about....
